Great getaway for family celebration

Great getaway for family celebration

our families from around Ohio met Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday. We loved the location, the lodge, and the setting was fabulous. The firepit was a hit. The firewood was delivered for $25 and we burned a fire for about 5 hours. Bench seats surrounded the pit. The cool temps made it perfect for sitting around the fire for hours.... making smores... talking.... etc. The hot tub was used by a few, despite the chilly air. The boys tried fishing, but didn't catch anything. We made a big meal on one of the days we were there, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The extra refrigerator in the basement was a huge plus. All the kids slept in the bunk beds downstairs. Adults slept in the first floor master and in the upstairs bedrooms. One of those 3 upstairs bedrooms was an open loft. The upstairs bathroom had poor water pressure in the shower so they showered in the first floor master bath. W/D's were available in the guest service building which we didn't need. The wifi was efficient. A few could make phone calls but mostly no phone service anywhere for my verizon phone. Other carriers provided a few bars. We had texting at the lodge through the wifi. And the lodge had a landline. They had music playing when we arrived, nice touch. Electronic gas fireplace was also a nice touch, but it got a bit warm after a while. The big dining table sat 8 comfortably, 10 was cozy. but ok. The breakfast bar could sit 4 or 5. There was a gas grill which we didn't use. Basically, we didn't want for anything.
